Fall open house and pumpkin drop

Children decorate pumpkins, then get to watch them (the pumpkins) plummet 12 stories to the pavement below. The Pumpkin Drop occurs every fall semester. The goal of the event is to ascertain gravity continues to operate as predicted. Only organically grown, cage free pumpkins are used.

Spring open house and laser maze

Channel your inner Jim Phelps by negotiating our annual laser maze. The laser maze occurs every spring semester.

Planetarium and observatory

The WSU Jewett Observatory is located on the Pullman campus. It is open monthly from about April to October, weather permitting. Monthly openings are on the first Saturday following the New Moon phase. Special openings are occasional, e.g., eclipses, and meteor showers. Events are free and open to the public.

The WSU Planetarium is located on the Pullman campus. The planetarium is an indoor sky simulation. Events run weekly for much of the year. A small charge is paid at the door on a first-come first-served basis.
