Teaching Assistantships (TAs) are normally offered for students in the first 1-2 years of the program. Research Assistantships (RAs) are offered by individual research groups. We encourage graduate students to find an advisor and get into research as soon as possible.
An academic year (9 month) TA plus a summer (3 month) RA will provide a student with a stipend of over $20,000. Contact the department for details.
